Köniz, Berne, Switzerland, September 2025 – Haag-Streit Group, a global leader in ophthalmic medical technology, has announced the appointment of Thomas Lenzen as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With a proven legacy of executive leadership across the medical device, diagnostics, and healthcare technology sectors, Thomas brings strategic vision and operational excellence to lead Haag-Streit through its next phase of global growth and innovation.
Before joining Haag-Streit, Thomas engaged in Consulting and Interim Management assignments across the Zürich Metropolitan Area, where he supported strategic transformations and executive transitions for med-tech firms, further sharpening his cross-functional leadership and turnaround capabilities.
Prior to that, Thomas spent nearly a decade at Haemonetics, where he held multiple leadership roles including Vice President International, Plasma & Blood Center, Vice President Plasma International, Vice President Plasma Europe, and Vice President Sales Europe. His tenure was marked by significant international growth, successful product launches, and deep partnerships with blood and plasma centers across global markets.
Earlier in his career, Thomas held leadership roles at Bausch Health Companies and Bausch + Lomb, serving as General Manager DACH, Vice President Global Sales & Marketing (Laser Systems), and Business Unit Director Surgical (DACH). He was instrumental in driving market expansion and integrating regional operations across Switzerland and Germany, especially in the surgical and ophthalmic device segments.
Thomas also served as Chief Executive Officer at Baisch GmbH, a medical device and dental industry firm, where he led the company for over seven years and oversaw product development, market diversification, and organizational scale-up. He began his career at A.T. Kearney, where he spent over eight years in roles ranging from Project Leader to Principal, leading strategic consulting projects across Europe and North America.
He holds both a PhD and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of St. Gallen, one of Europe’s most prestigious institutions for business education.
