Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, May 2026 — McDonald’s South Africa has announced the elevation of Tinyiko Nkuna to its Executive Team, where he will continue to lead the Strategy and Insights function. This appointment reflects the growing strategic importance of insights, analytics, and long-term planning in driving competitive advantage and sustainable growth for the organization.
At McDonald’s South Africa, where he has built a strong career over the years, Tinyiko Nkuna currently serves as Director – Strategy and Insights, leading initiatives that enhance value frameworks, strengthen pricing strategies, and enable data-driven decision-making across the business. His leadership has been instrumental in developing structured insight platforms, building long-term business plans, and aligning cross-functional teams around growth priorities.
Prior to this, as Consumer and Business Insights Manager, he played a pivotal role in shaping pricing strategies, delivering actionable insights, and leading country-wide business planning processes. Earlier, as Business Insights Manager, he contributed to strengthening analytical capabilities and operational decision-making within the organization. His early roles at McDonald’s included positions as a Consumer and Business Insights Consultant and Data Analyst, where he built a strong foundation in analytics and business intelligence.
Before rejoining McDonald’s South Africa, Tinyiko Nkuna worked with AVI Limited as a Field Marketing Analyst, where he focused on sales analytics, market optimization, and performance monitoring. He also gained experience at Nike South Africa as a Business Analyst, and began his career at the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa (IDC) as a Junior Business Analyst, working on business viability assessments and investment analysis.
With nearly two decades of experience across leading organizations such as IDC, Catalyst Research, Nike, and AVI – National Brands, Tinyiko is widely recognized for his sharp strategic thinking, strong analytical expertise, and ability to translate insights into meaningful business impact.
