City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, February 2026 — Venesa Lubisi has started a new role as Head of People & Business Enablement – Central Office at Sun International. In this role, she will lead people and business enablement initiatives at the group’s central office, strengthening alignment between organisational culture, capability development, and business performance across the enterprise.
Venesa brings over 15 years of experience across people leadership roles spanning construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, and security technology sectors. Most recently, she served at Giesecke+Devrient, where she led the People Organisation in South Africa, partnering across multiple divisions to deliver integrated people strategies focused on transformation, leadership development, talent calibration, and workforce planning.
During her tenure at Giesecke+Devrient, Venesa played a pivotal role in evolving the people function from an operational support role into a strategic business partner. She championed a unified “One People” model, enabling cross-divisional collaboration, talent mobility, and inclusive culture-shaping initiatives that strengthened organisational effectiveness and employee belonging.
Earlier in her career, Venesa held HR leadership and specialist roles at Aveng Rail and Aveng Manufacturing Automation & Control Solutions, where she built strong foundations in employee relations, policy development, SAP-based HR systems, and workforce governance. Her depth of experience positions her well to support Sun International’s continued focus on people development, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
