Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2024 – Vijay Savant has taken on the role of CEO & MD at GS Caltex India. With an extensive background in the chemicals and energy sectors, Vijay brings valuable expertise in project development, asset management, and market development. His experience in leading strategic initiatives and fostering business growth will be instrumental in his new role at GS Caltex India.
Vijay Savant joins GS Caltex India after his tenure at LG Chem, where he served as the Global Project Development Director for approximately 2 years and 1 month. In this role, he oversaw various global projects, contributing significantly to the company’s development and expansion.
Prior to LG Chem, Vijay worked at INEOS as the Atlas Asset Manager & Methanol Marketing Manager for about 10 months. His responsibilities included managing assets and marketing methanol in Trinidad and Tobago, where he demonstrated strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
Vijay also spent over 10 years at British Petroleum (BP), holding various managerial roles. He served as the Market Development Manager for PTA and Acetic Acid in India and South and South East Asia. Additionally, he represented BP on a Non-Operated JV in Trinidad and Tobago, handling methanol marketing, regional demand supply, and industry dynamics.
Reliance Industries Limited: In his earlier career, Vijay spent 12 years at Reliance Industries Limited, where he held various positions within the Chemicals Team, eventually becoming the Product Head for a group of solvents primarily catering to the Paint and Pesticide Industry.
