Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India, November 2025 — Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd, India’s leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), has announced the appointment of Yuvraj Datta as President – Operational Strategy & Excellence. With nearly three decades of distinguished leadership across pharmaceuticals, healthcare, consumer health, and manufacturing, Yuvraj’s appointment marks a pivotal step in Akums’ continued journey toward operational transformation and enterprise-wide excellence.
Yuvraj joins Akums from Zeon Lifesciences Ltd, where he served as Director – Operations, Business Development & Process Excellence. In this role, he successfully led multi-site manufacturing, business growth initiatives, and large-scale efficiency programs, while expanding Zeon’s footprint across domestic and international markets. His leadership in aligning strategy, execution, and quality delivery helped drive strong growth across product categories and supply chains.
Prior to Zeon, Yuvraj spent more than two decades at GSK, holding strategic leadership positions across India, APAC, MENA, CIS/Russia, and other high-risk global markets. At GSK, he led multiple functions including Ethics & Compliance, Operational Excellence, Corporate Investigations, and Contract Manufacturing, and played a key role in deploying the GSK Production System across manufacturing sites. His work was instrumental in strengthening governance, embedding lean methodologies, and fostering an ethical, performance-driven culture across complex operational environments.
He also served as Board Advisor at BlueLotus Value Tradelink, where he guided the company’s leadership on institutional governance, operational maturity, and the implementation of scalable and sustainable business frameworks.
In his new capacity at Akums, Yuvraj will lead the Operational Strategy & Excellence charter, driving governance, performance transformation, and process optimization across the organisation’s 12 world-class manufacturing facilities. His leadership will be central to advancing efficiency, compliance, and innovation, enabling Akums to further solidify its position as a global pharmaceutical manufacturing leader.
