Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, March 2026 — Zydus MedTech has appointed Kailash Chandramouli as Head – Technical Operations. In his new role, he will lead technical operations to support Zydus MedTech’s vision of establishing a MedTech park, with a focus on Nephro, Ortho and Cardio operations, along with supply chain and QARA priorities.
Kailash brings over 31 years of leadership experience across operations, quality, and supply chain management, with deep expertise in building efficient, high-quality manufacturing ecosystems and driving operational excellence at scale.
Before joining Zydus MedTech, he served as Vice President – Operations at BPL Medical Technologies Pvt Ltd, where he led manufacturing operations for X-ray, diagnostics cardiology, and life support systems.
Earlier, he worked with Smith+Nephew as Strategy Technology Operations Excellence – Project Director, where he supported the global Orthopaedics franchise (Trauma) with manufacturing analysis, business case development, and projects focused on operational excellence. His work included developing a confidential business case for a new manufacturing facility and conducting manufacturing financial analysis and improvement planning for existing plants.
Prior to that, he served as General Manager, India Operations & Site Lead at Abbott, managing India operations across quality, delivery, inventory, compliance, and financial performance. His contributions included consolidating factories, validating products under GMP, vertically integrating critical processes to improve cost performance, implementing S&OP, and driving leadership development and succession planning.
He also held the role of Director of Quality at Alstom, where he established and stabilized quality for a multi-customer manufacturing model, implemented quality assurance plans to enable timely metro train deliveries, strengthened export quality systems, and improved cross-functional collaboration for delivery performance.
Kailash spent nearly 15 years with GE HealthCare, where he held multiple leadership roles including Plant Manager & Factory Manager, and earlier responsibilities spanning Sourcing & Supplier Quality General Manager, and plant leadership across sourcing, ERP, product transfer, EHS, and operations. His work included ensuring compliance, leading supplier quality organizations, supporting audits, driving lean initiatives, improving field quality outcomes, and delivering cost and supply-chain improvements.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Blue Star India Limited (HVAC) as Senior Engineer/Assistant Manager, contributing to the establishment of a greenfield facility for packaged air conditioners. He also served as Supply Chain Engineer at VIRCAP Engineering, and began his career with Bharat Electronics Limited as a Deputy Engineer.
