Joana Eguidazu Urretavizcaya Begins New Role as Chief People Officer for Latin America at GroupM

Miami, Florida, United States, July 2024 – Joana Eguidazu Urretavizcaya has started her new position as Chief People Officer for Latin America at GroupM. In this role, Joana will lead the strategic development of human resources operations across the region, overseeing programs, tools, resources, and budgets to support the company’s 3,000 employees in 12 countries.

Joana Eguidazu Urretavizcaya has been with GroupM for over 11 years. Most recently, she served as the Executive Director of People Operations from March 2021 to July 2024. In this role, she was responsible for leading HR operations and developing strategic initiatives to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency across the Latin America region.

Prior to that, Joana was the People Latin America Region Leader from October 2016 to March 2021. During this time, she focused on aligning HR strategies with business goals and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Joana’s journey at GroupM began as the HR Director for Spain from January 2013 to September 2016. In this role, she managed HR operations for eight units, including GroupM, Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC, Maxus, Kinetic, Xaxis, and Quisma, and reported to the COO of GM Spain.

Before joining GroupM, Joana worked at Deloitte as a Senior Consultant from 2007 to January 2013. She specialized in developing organizational models, staff sizing, and implementing change management plans to improve company performance. Her expertise in designing new HR processes and optimizing operational models significantly contributed to her clients’ success.
