Faridabad, Haryana, India, August 2024 – Vinod Rai has been appointed as the Executive Vice President & Group Head HR at Shahi Exports Pvt Ltd. In his new role, Vinod will lead the HR operations for the entire group, which includes overseeing the HR strategies for three large businesses under Shahi Exports. His responsibilities will focus on long-term HR strategy, including the redesign of HR policies, organizational design, grading structure, succession planning, leadership development, industrial relations, capability building, enhancing employee engagement, and key talent retention.
Prior to joining Shahi Exports, Vinod served as the Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Orient Paper & Industries Limited (CK Birla Group) for approximately 1 year. Here, he was responsible for heading the complete HR function and led a massive transformation that included redesigning HR policies and aligning the organization structure with business strategy.
Before his time at Orient Paper, Vinod had a significant tenure at Maruti Suzuki India Limited for around 12 years, where he held various leadership roles in HR. Notably, he was the Head of Human Resources for Engineering, QA, and Rohtak R&D facilities, with a focus on talent management, organizational transformation, and strategic projects.
Vinod also gained extensive experience as the Head of HR – Supply Chain & Plant HR and Head of Talent Acquisition (Corporate) at Maruti Suzuki, where he played a crucial role in HR operations, transformation, and talent acquisition strategies.
Vinod has also held pivotal roles in HR at Jubilant Pharmova Limited and Panacea Biotec, where he led business HR and talent acquisition functions, compensation and benefits, and HR operations across sales divisions. His early career at Panacea Biotec as an Assistant Manager laid the foundation for his extensive expertise in HR.
