Kansas, United States, September 2024 — Marilou Mewborn has been promoted to the role of Chief Human Resources Officer – Kansas at Ascension. In her new role, Marilou will lead human resource strategies across Ascension’s Kansas operations, ensuring effective HR initiatives align with the organization’s mission and culture.
Before her promotion, Marilou Mewborn served as National Director of Organizational Effectiveness at Ascension for one year, where she partnered with senior leaders to implement talent management, leadership, and workforce planning strategies. She was instrumental in driving HR solutions that supported a workforce of 165,000 employees.
Prior to this, Marilou held the position of Sr. HR Solutions Navigator, Organizational Capability Solutions at Ascension for nearly two years. In this role, she designed and implemented effective workforce solutions to improve employee experience and organizational alignment.
Earlier, Marilou served as Talent Acquisition Manager at Ascension, where she managed recruitment strategies and workforce planning. Her earlier experience at Ascension also includes a Talent Business Partner role and Regional Human Resources Manager overseeing operations in Kansas and Oklahoma.
Marilou’s extensive HR career also includes positions at Regent Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare and Via Christi Health, where she honed her expertise in change management, employee engagement, and HR development. She began her career at American Red Cross and Hawker Beechcraft, where she built a strong foundation in talent acquisition and HR leadership.
