Soell brings to CFS an impressive track record of over 28 years, with significant leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer at Proterra Inc, where he played a crucial role in advancing zero-emission electric transit vehicles. His tenure as President of Proterra Transit underscored his commitment to clean transportation solutions. Prior to Proterra, Soell’s expertise was instrumental at REPAIRIFY, INC., and Delta Air Lines, where he delivered outstanding results in operations and customer service. His extensive experience also includes impactful roles at Mercedes-Benz USA and Harley-Davidson Motor Company, highlighting his versatile leadership across various sectors.

Educated at some of the world’s leading institutions, Soell’s academic credentials include coursework at MIT Sloan School of Management, an MBA from the University of Michigan – Stephen M. His comprehensive education has laid a solid foundation for his distinguished career in driving technological innovation and operational improvements.

CFS, known for its groundbreaking work in harnessing fusion energy, is on the cusp of revolutionizing energy production. The company’s collaboration with MIT has led to the development of high-temperature superconducting magnets, a key component in creating more compact, cost-effective tokamak fusion systems. CFS is leading the charge towards a sustainable energy future with the development of SPARC, the world’s first commercially-relevant net energy fusion machine, and the subsequent fusion power plant, ARC.

As COO, Soell is poised to leverage his vast experience in operational optimization, strategic planning, and multi-functional leadership to contribute to CFS’s mission of delivering clean, sustainable fusion energy. His role will be crucial in navigating the complex challenges of scaling fusion technology from concept to commercial viability.

CFS and its dedicated team are at the forefront of the fusion energy frontier, and with Julian Soell’s leadership, the company is set to accelerate its journey towards providing a transformative solution to global energy needs.
