Dallas, Texas, United States, December 2024 – Doug Smith has joined Forward Air Corporation as Chief People Officer, where he will lead the organization’s HR strategy, talent management, and workforce transformation efforts. Doug’s extensive career spans leadership roles in HR across various industries, making him well-suited to strengthen Forward Air’s culture and support its strategic goals.
Prior to joining Forward Air, Doug was Senior Vice President of Human Resources – North America at CEVA Logistics, where he oversaw HR operations for four years, driving talent development and employee engagement initiatives.
He also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Roadrunner Transportation Systems, where he provided organizational leadership for a dynamic transportation service provider.
Doug spent seven years at ATI (Allegheny Technologies Incorporated), holding multiple HR leadership positions across its business units, where he was responsible for HR strategy for 4,200 employees across the U.S., England, and Poland. Earlier in his career, he held senior HR roles at Sara Lee Fresh Bakery, Coca-Cola Enterprises, and Watkins Motor Lines, focusing on talent acquisition, labor relations, and HR transformations.
