Neena Vajani Appointed as Head of Lending and Transaction Management, Australia at ING

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, March 2025 – Neena Vajani has been appointed as Head of Lending and Transaction Management, Australia at ING, where she will lead efforts to grow the bank’s lending book both domestically and across the region. In her new role, Neena will collaborate closely with a global team, overseeing transaction management and driving strategic lending initiatives.

Neena has been part of ING Australia since mid-2024, initially serving as Senior Vice President, Corporate Sector Lending, before assuming her new leadership role in November 2024. During her brief but impactful tenure, she has demonstrated deep expertise in structured finance and credit risk, making her a natural fit for this strategic promotion.

Prior to ING, Neena had a secondment with Westpac Institutional Bank as Structured Finance Specialist, where she led transaction structuring and risk assessments for corporate finance deals. Before that, she worked as Executive Manager, Risk Analytics & Portfolio Insights at Westpac Group, managing risk strategy and insights over a two-year period.

Neena’s earlier experience includes a four-year tenure at HSBC as Associate Director and Country Head of Credit Analysis for Global Banking and Markets. Prior to that, she held the role of Vice President at Goldman Sachs in Bangalore, overseeing corporate treasury responsibilities. She also spent nearly seven years with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in various senior lending and risk roles across Australia and India.

Her professional foundation includes earlier positions with Standard Chartered, ICICI Bank, and GE Capital, where she developed expertise in credit structuring, financial analysis, and risk modeling.
