INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, United States, April 2025 — Egis, a global leader in architectural, consulting, construction engineering, operations, and mobility services, has announced the appointment of Alaa AbuSiam as Chief Executive Officer of the Americas Region, covering North and South America. This strategic move is part of the company’s broader Impact the Future plan, aimed at propelling Egis into the top 10 construction engineering firms globally and doubling turnover by 2029.

Previously CEO of the Middle East and South Asia (MESA) region, AbuSiam joins the new Americas leadership role following the division of the former AMPAC region. He will lead the company’s expansion across the Americas and joins the Group’s Executive Committee.

James Chopty, the former AMPAC CEO, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Egis Group, a newly created role focused on operational efficiency and financial performance.

Laurent Germain, CEO of Egis Group, stated:
“The change further focuses the Group on development within the region and puts greater emphasis on our growth plans for the Americas in general and the U.S. in particular. We’re on a significant expansion track for the region, and with Alaa’s appointment, we are well set up to move forward. He has the experience and knowledge to achieve our objectives, having achieved significant results at Egis in the Middle East.”

AbuSiam has been with Egis since 2020, initially as COO for the Middle East, before being promoted to CEO of MESA in 2021. Under his leadership, the company underwent a strategic transformation, achieved rapid growth, and integrated six major acquisitions, positioning Egis as ENR’s 5th-best Middle East engineering firm.

“I look forward to this new challenge – driving growth, delivering impact, and building strong partnerships across North and South America,” said Alaa AbuSiam. “We aim to invest more than $800 million on acquisitions in the region to reach $1.1 billion in sales by 2028, supporting local projects and enhancing job creation.”

AbuSiam holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Al-Balqa’ Applied University (Jordan), an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford (UK), and executive qualifications from Rice University, MIT, Harvard Business School, and INSEAD. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP)®, Certified Climate Change Professional (CC-P), and an active member of multiple professional and academic networks.
