Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, June 2025 – Deidre Roos-Korf has taken on a new role as Head of People APAC at Newmont Corporation, where she will lead the people strategy across the Asia-Pacific region. In this pivotal role, Deidre will oversee talent development, organizational culture, and workforce planning to align with Newmont’s mission of responsible and innovative mining operations.
In her most recent position, Deidre served as Group Chief HR & HSE Officer at ASDAM for approximately three years. During her tenure, she was instrumental in integrating HR and safety initiatives, building people capability, and supporting high-growth business units across Australia.
Before that, she was Executive General Manager People and Culture at MS Queensland for over a year, where she championed employee engagement and led cultural transformation efforts to support the organization’s mission in healthcare services.
She also held the role of Managing Director at DRK Associates, a freelance advisory venture where she provided strategic HR counsel to diverse clients. Prior to that, she worked as Senior Executive Director of Human Resources at Sidra Medicine in Qatar for nearly three years, where she played a critical role in advancing HR operations in a world-class medical institution.
Over her distinguished career spanning more than two decades, Deidre has also held senior HR roles at Children’s Health Queensland, Arrium, BHP Billiton Energy Coal, Lonmin Plc, and Samancor Chrome, where she served for over a decade. Earlier in her career, she gained foundational experience in HR at Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting and AngloGold Ashanti, building a strong base in consulting and human capital strategy.
