Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, April 2026 – Shyam Pai has been appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer at Sequel Logistics, marking a significant leadership move as the company continues to strengthen its people strategy and organizational capabilities in the critical logistics space.
In this role, Shyam will lead the overall HR agenda, focusing on talent strategy, leadership development, organizational transformation, and building a high-performance, people-centric culture to support Sequel Logistics’ growth across its specialized logistics businesses.
Prior to joining Sequel Logistics, Shyam Pai was working as an independent Leadership Coach & Consultant, where he leveraged over 25 years of HR and business operations experience to enable organizations and leaders to achieve transformational outcomes. His work focused on executive coaching, leadership transitions, and building resilient, high-performing cultures.
Before this, he spent close to seven years with More Retail Private Limited, where he held multiple leadership roles including Head – Talent, Learning & Corporate HR and Head HR – Retail Operations & Supply Chain. During his tenure, he drove succession planning, talent management, and large-scale HR transformation initiatives, including HRMS implementation, workforce optimization, and leadership capability building across a workforce of approximately 15,000 employees.
Earlier, Shyam served as Head HR – Supermarkets at More Retail, where he partnered with business leaders to drive productivity, cost optimization, and succession planning, while successfully managing change during ownership transition phases. He also built strong talent pipelines to support rapid expansion across store networks.
He has also held key leadership roles at Aditya Birla Retail Limited and Jubilant Retail, where he led HR integration, workforce optimization, and large-scale change management initiatives, including the successful merger and transition of retail operations.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Ernst & Young as a Senior Consultant – Human Capital, and with Aviva Global Services, where he built strong operational and HR foundations. His career began in banking with Syndicate Bank, giving him a well-rounded understanding of business and people management.
With over two decades of experience spanning HR leadership, business operations, and leadership coaching, Shyam brings a unique blend of strategic thinking and execution excellence.
Shyam Pai holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning.
