Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, October 2025 – Nisha Padbidri has been elevated as the Global Head of HR Partnership for Technology, Operations, HR and Functions at Citi, a pivotal appointment that underscores Citi’s commitment to global talent leadership. This marks the first time the role is based in Mumbai, India, reflecting the country’s growing importance in Citi’s global strategy. Padbidri will oversee HR business partnership for more than 140,000 employees, representing over 62% of Citi’s workforce across 98 countries, bringing her nearly three decades of experience to this influential role.
Padbidri has been with Citi for over 25 years, holding a series of senior leadership roles across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and India. Most recently, she served as the Head of Human Resource Professional Services for Citi Eastern (APAC, Middle East and Africa), where she drove operational efficiency, HR transformation, and diversity and inclusion initiatives across multiple regions.
Earlier, she was the Director and Country Human Resource Officer for Citi Malaysia, where she focused on organizational capability building, digital transformation, and strategic divestitures. She also served on the Board of Directors at Citigroup Transaction Services (M) Sdn Bhd, contributing to governance, executive performance management, and strategic development.
In Singapore, Padbidri held roles within the Institutional Client Group as APAC Senior HR Partner and Senior HR Advisor, covering talent acquisition, leadership development, compensation, and retention strategies across the region. Her achievements include strengthening leadership pipelines and advancing data-driven HR practices.
Previously, as HR Site Head for Citigroup Transactional Services in Malaysia, she simultaneously led as Chief Talent Officer, General Manager of HR, and Business Partner for centers employing over 1,500 staff across APAC, Europe, and North America. In this role, she reduced attrition by 17%, increased employee satisfaction by 11%, and expanded the workforce by 65%.
Padbidri began her career with Citi in mortgage operations and online banking roles, gradually progressing into HR leadership. Her diverse experiences have equipped her with deep expertise in transformation, engagement, and organizational strategy, enabling her to lead Citi’s global HR business partnership at scale.
