Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, February 2026 – Varun Mittal has started a new role as Senior Director – Global HR Shared Services at Birlasoft, marking a significant milestone in his nearly decade-long journey with the organization.
In this expanded leadership position, Varun will head Global Payroll, Global Compliances, Employee Benefits, and HR Operations, further strengthening Birlasoft’s global HR shared services framework. Prior to this appointment, he served as Global Human Resources Director and Associate Director – Human Resources, where he led HR Operations, Compliances, Benefits, and Payroll across multiple geographies including the US, UK, Singapore, Brazil, and over 15 other countries. As Head HR Ops & Compliances (HRSS), he played a pivotal role in managing India payroll for over 7,000 employees, driving statutory compliance, leading HR audits (ISO 27001, E&Y, ITGC, PwC, KPMG and others), and modernizing HR policies and systems.
Before joining Birlasoft, Varun held leadership roles at Aircel Limited, where he managed large-scale HR operations, manpower budgeting, compliance, payroll, and performance management across corporate and circle levels. Earlier in his career, he served with Reliance MediaWorks Ltd., Infinity Advertising, Goto Customer Services Pvt. Ltd., and Espire Infolabs, building strong expertise in HR operations, payroll governance, and performance systems. He holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Productivity and Management.
