Hyderabad, Telangana, India, June 2026 — Piyush Raghuvanshi has joined The D. E. Shaw Group as Talent Leader. He brings extensive experience in talent strategy, organizational transformation, leadership hiring, and people leadership across high-growth technology, gaming, internet, financial services, and agribusiness organizations.
In his new role, Piyush will contribute to strengthening talent capabilities and leadership excellence at one of the world’s most respected investment and technology-driven organizations. His appointment reflects The D. E. Shaw Group’s continued focus on attracting exceptional talent and building high-performance teams globally.
Prior to joining The D. E. Shaw Group, Piyush Raghuvanshi served as Chief Human Resources Officer at apna, where he led talent and culture initiatives across multiple business lines, including the Job Marketplace, EdTech, Voice Agentic AI Enterprise SaaS, AI Labs, BlueMachines AI, and Arctic Engines. During his tenure, he focused on scaling the organization through strategic talent augmentation, fostering a purpose-driven culture, and enabling business growth across diverse technology-led ventures.
Before apna, Piyush joined Zupee as the founding HR leader and served as Head – Human Resources. Working closely with the founders, he built the HR function from the ground up and played a pivotal role in supporting the company’s hyper-growth journey. Under his leadership, Zupee achieved significant expansion in business valuation, annual recurring revenue, workforce capability, and leadership hiring. He successfully built scalable people frameworks, developed the leadership team, established compensation and rewards structures, and supported multiple funding rounds while driving organizational transformation.
Earlier, he served as Head – Talent Acquisition, APAC at OYO, where he led talent acquisition strategy and delivery across multiple businesses, including hotels, vacation homes, co-living, student housing, co-working, and weddings. He managed large-scale hiring programs, transformation initiatives, AI-enabled recruitment projects, and workforce optimization efforts across Asia Pacific and global markets. His contributions earned him an expanded regional leadership mandate within a short span of time.
Prior to OYO, Piyush held the role of Head – Talent Acquisition, APAC at Syngenta, overseeing talent acquisition operations across 16 countries in Asia and China. He led recruitment transformation initiatives, built in-house talent acquisition capabilities, supported the establishment of shared services operations, and drove diversity and inclusion programs. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Wipro, and CybOrg Technologies, where he developed deep expertise in talent acquisition, employer branding, leadership hiring, workforce transformation, recruitment technology, and global talent strategy. Throughout his career, he has established a reputation for building high-performing teams and enabling business growth through people excellence.
