Tarrytown, New York, United States, June 2026 — Regeneron has appointed Rick Hall as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), succeeding Sally Paull, who is transitioning into retirement after serving as Executive Vice President, Human Resources for the past decade. During her tenure, Sally played a pivotal role in shaping Regeneron’s people strategy through a period of unprecedented global growth. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Rick will lead the company’s global HR organization, partnering with business leaders to strengthen organizational capability, foster innovation, advance culture, and support Regeneron’s mission of bringing life-transforming medicines to patients worldwide.
Rick Hall joined Regeneron in 2022 as Vice President, Human Resources, before being promoted to Senior Vice President, Human Resources in 2024. During his tenure, he has partnered closely with leadership across the organization to align people strategy with business priorities, supporting the company’s continued expansion and strengthening its talent, leadership, and organizational capabilities. With more than 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, Rick has developed extensive expertise in human resources leadership, organizational transformation, talent strategy, and business partnership.
Prior to joining Regeneron, Rick spent nearly five years at Johnson & Johnson, where he served as Vice President, Human Resources and HR Head, Johnson & Johnson Innovation. In these leadership roles, he supported innovation-focused organizations and partnered with senior executives to build talent strategies that accelerated research, innovation, and business growth across the company’s global operations.
Earlier, Rick built an extensive 17-year career at Merck, holding a succession of increasingly senior HR leadership positions. His responsibilities included serving as Executive Director, HR Business Partner for Research & Development, supporting more than 4,000 employees across Discovery, Preclinical, and Early Development. He also led Global HR Service Delivery, overseeing an international organization of more than 200 HR professionals, driving large-scale HR transformation, operational excellence, shared services, organizational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives. His earlier leadership assignments included supporting manufacturing, supply chain, emerging markets, China HR strategy, talent management, rewards, benefits, and global HR operations, providing broad experience across every aspect of enterprise human resources.
Rick’s appointment reflects Regeneron’s commitment to developing strong internal leadership while advancing its people-first culture during a period of continued scientific innovation and global growth. His extensive background in strategic HR leadership, organizational transformation, talent development, and business partnership positions him well to lead Regeneron’s global human resources organization into its next chapter.
