Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands, July 2026 — The HEINEKEN Company has appointed Ruben Santos as Global Talent Management & Insights Manager, reinforcing its commitment to building future-ready leadership capabilities and data-driven talent strategies across its global operations.
In his new role, Santos will lead the company’s global talent management strategy, overseeing performance management, succession planning, and NextGen leadership programs for senior leadership populations. Santos joins HEINEKEN after more than seven years with Ahold Delhaize, where he most recently served as Global People Development Product Owner. His initiatives significantly reduced administrative complexity, tripled employee growth conversations, strengthened succession transparency, accelerated HR technology adoption, and laid the foundation for a skills-based organization supported by SAP SuccessFactors Talent Intelligence Hub.
Prior to that, he served as European HR Strategy & Program Director, partnering with the European CHRO to shape people strategy across 10 brands representing approximately 180,000 employees and €32 billion in revenue. During this period, he led numerous enterprise-wide initiatives covering talent and culture, diversity, equity and inclusion, leadership development, strategic workforce planning, HR operating model improvements, organizational development, labor productivity, HR technology investment, and pay equity.
Earlier, Santos held the position of European Talent Program Senior Manager, where he designed and implemented leadership development programs, talent initiatives, and DE&I solutions across Europe, helping strengthen leadership capability and organizational effectiveness across the group’s international businesses.
Before joining Ahold Delhaize, Santos spent more than four years with Deloitte Nederland, progressing from Strategy & Operations Intern to Senior Consultant. During his consulting career, he advised multinational organizations including AkzoNobel, Philips Lighting (Signify), Ahold Delhaize, Royal Philips, Medtronic, KAO, Arcadis, and Atlas, leading HR and finance transformation programs, organizational redesign initiatives, operating model development, workforce optimization, change management, and executive-level strategic workshops.
Across his career, Santos has built extensive expertise in Global Talent Management, Leadership Development, Succession Planning, Performance Management, People Analytics, Employee Engagement, HR Technology, Organizational Development, Strategic Workforce Planning, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, AI-Enabled Talent Solutions, HR Transformation, Agile Product Management, Learning & Development, Change Management, and HR Strategy.
