Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, July 2026 — Syngene International Limited, a leading global contract research, development, and manufacturing organization (CRDMO), has announced that Siddharth Mittal has assumed the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company. He succeeds Peter Bains, who completed his tenure as Managing Director & CEO on 30 June 2026.
Siddharth brings close to three decades of leadership experience spanning pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, finance, and global business operations. In his new role, he will lead Syngene’s strategic growth agenda, strengthen its global CRDMO capabilities, and further enhance the company’s position as a trusted innovation and manufacturing partner to the global life sciences industry.
Prior to joining Syngene, Siddharth served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Biocon Limited, where he led the company’s business transformation and growth initiatives. During his nearly 13-year tenure at Biocon, he held several senior leadership positions, including President & Chief Financial Officer, Vice President Finance, and played a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, strategic investments, and long-term value creation.
Earlier in his career, Siddharth served as Vice President Finance and Corporate Controller at Symphony Teleca Corporation, where he oversaw financial management and corporate governance functions. He also held the position of Chief Financial Officer – U.S. BPO Division at Cambridge Solutions Limited, gaining extensive experience in global operations and business finance.
Siddharth began his professional journey with S. R. Batliboi & Co. LLP as a Chartered Accountant, building a strong foundation in finance, governance, and strategic business management. His diverse leadership experience across financial stewardship, business transformation, and corporate strategy positions him well to lead Syngene into its next phase of growth and innovation.
