Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, July 2026 — TELUS has announced that Victor Dodig has officially assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Having served as CEO Designate prior to the transition, Victor now takes the helm of one of Canada’s leading technology companies, bringing with him more than three decades of leadership experience across banking, wealth management, asset management, and corporate strategy.
Victor joins TELUS following a distinguished 21-year career at CIBC, where he most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer. During his tenure, he led one of Canada’s largest financial institutions through a period of sustained growth, digital transformation, and customer-centric innovation. Before becoming CEO in 2014, he held several senior executive positions, including Senior Executive Vice-President and Group Head, Wealth Management, Executive Vice-President, Retail Distribution, and Executive Vice-President, CIBC Wealth Management, leading strategic initiatives across retail banking, wealth management, and financial services.
Prior to CIBC, Victor served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Canada at UBS Global Asset Management, where he led the firm’s Canadian operations and expanded its asset management capabilities. Earlier, he spent five years with Merrill Lynch, holding senior managing director roles across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, gaining extensive international experience in investment banking and financial markets.
Victor began his professional career as a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising organizations on business strategy, operational excellence, and corporate transformation. He earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard University, providing a strong academic foundation for a leadership career that has spanned financial services, wealth management, and global business strategy.
As President and CEO, Victor will lead TELUS through its next phase of innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable growth, while continuing to build on the company’s purpose-driven culture and commitment to customers, communities, and technological advancement.
