Bridgewater, New Jersey, United States, July 2026 — Insmed Incorporated has appointed William Haggerty as Senior Director of People Operations, strengthening its leadership team as the global biopharmaceutical company continues to expand its people-first culture while advancing innovative therapies for patients with serious diseases.
William joins Insmed following an accomplished career spanning more than two decades in human resources transformation, talent strategy, employee experience, and AI-enabled workforce innovation. Most recently, he served as Director – HR AI Transformation & Talent Management at IBM, where he spearheaded enterprise-wide AI-powered talent initiatives, developed global HR AI strategies across 61 countries, and led workforce transformation programs that aligned employee skills with future business needs, generating significant business impact.
Earlier at IBM, William served as HR Director – Employee & User Experience Design, where he transformed leadership development programs, redesigned manager experiences, and developed global performance management, learning, and career development solutions supporting thousands of leaders worldwide. He also held leadership positions including Talent & Experience Strategy Director – Cloud Business Unit, Global Talent & Employee Experience Director, Talent Strategy & Transformation Director, Talent Strategy & Employee Experience Leader, Talent Partner – Cloud, Senior Manager – HR People Strategy, and Strategy Consultant / Global Program Manager – Workforce Strategy & Programs, leading large-scale enterprise talent transformation, workforce planning, employee experience, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness initiatives across IBM’s global businesses.
Prior to his HR leadership journey, William built a strong foundation in business strategy and technology consulting through senior leadership roles at IBM Consulting and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he led enterprise transformation, technology strategy, mergers and acquisitions integration, and large-scale business transformation programs for Fortune 500 organizations across multiple industries.
Alongside his corporate leadership responsibilities, William serves as President of the Board of Directors of The Keep Paddling Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by cancer through advocacy, awareness, and community engagement.
William recently completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Exeter.
