In her new role, she will lead the organization’s people practices, talent strategy, and HR transformation agenda, helping build a culture of innovation, inclusion, and sustainable growth as U.S. Bank continues to strengthen its global operations in India.
With more than 25 years of experience in human resources, people leadership, and business transformation, Cynthia (Auxilia) O’Connor has built a distinguished career across the banking, financial services, technology, business process outsourcing, and consumer sectors. She is recognized for driving strategic HR initiatives, leading large-scale workforce transformations, strengthening leadership capability, and building high-performing, inclusive organizations across multiple global markets.
Prior to joining U.S. Bancorp India, O’Connor served as Director HR – HR Business Partner, Technology at NatWest Group, where she partnered with technology leadership to drive the people agenda across critical digital and technology functions. Before that, she spent more than seven years at Standard Chartered Bank as Vice President – Head HR Technology, leading the HR strategy for technology teams across India, Malaysia, China, and Poland, supporting a diverse workforce of approximately 13,000 colleagues. Earlier, she held senior HR leadership roles with Diversi Foods – Montana Bakery and Les Artisan Boulangers, Sutherland Global Services, Infosys BPO, Hewlett-Packard, Inkfish, and Amazon, steadily building deep expertise in organisational development, leadership development, employee relations, talent management, and global HR operations.
As Chief Human Resources Officer, India, O’Connor will be responsible for shaping U.S. Bancorp India’s people strategy, strengthening leadership capability, advancing talent development, and fostering a culture that supports innovation, collaboration, and business growth. Her appointment reflects the organization’s continued investment in building a world-class workforce to support its expanding global operations.
