Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, June 2026 — MTN Group has appointed Abbad Reda as Chief Executive Officer of MTN Côte d’Ivoire, effective no later than 1 September 2026.
Reda currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of MTN Zambia and brings more than two decades of telecommunications leadership experience across multiple MTN operations.
Prior to leading MTN Zambia, he served as Chief Executive Officer of MTN Afghanistan, where he was responsible for the company’s operations and business performance in the market.
Earlier, he held the position of Chief Information Officer at MTN Ghana. In this role, he was responsible for technology strategy, digital transformation initiatives, infrastructure development, information security, business intelligence, innovation programs, and enterprise technology operations. He also played a leadership role in multiple business transformation initiatives across MTN Group.
Reda additionally undertook a leadership assignment as CEO of MTN Liberia, where he was tasked with supporting the business during a period of operational and commercial transformation.
Throughout his career with MTN, he has held senior leadership responsibilities spanning technology, digital transformation, customer experience, innovation, operations, and executive management across several African markets.
His appointment forms part of MTN Group’s latest executive leadership transitions announced under the Group’s Ambition 2030 strategy.
