Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2024 – Akshay Matkar has taken on the role of Chief Growth Officer at Pressto, where he will oversee marketing, analytics, and business development initiatives. With a proven track record in driving revenue growth and developing customer-centric strategies, Akshay brings his expertise in omnichannel experience and data-driven marketing to elevate Pressto’s global presence.
Before joining Pressto, Akshay served as Head of Marketing, Brand Experience & Data at Candere By Kalyan Jewellers, where he was instrumental in scaling revenue from INR 75 crore to INR 200 crore over nearly four years. His efforts included optimizing customer acquisition costs, enhancing retention rates, and driving efficiencies across marketing channels. Akshay’s team-focused leadership spanned diverse functions, including business strategy, data analytics, and creative communication.

Previously, as Senior Marketing Manager at Candere, Akshay spearheaded initiatives that grew revenue from INR 25 crore to INR 75 crore in just two years. He optimized product-market fit, enhanced customer experience through CRM platforms, and increased organic traffic significantly.
In earlier roles, Akshay worked as a Growth Hacker at SheThePeople.TV, achieving 100x organic growth through a full-funnel content strategy, and as Marketing Manager at Candere, where he drove revenue growth from INR 5 crore to INR 25 crore while improving user reviews and product discovery rates.
His journey also includes roles as Account Manager at IMZ Media Solutions Pvt Ltd, where he managed substantial budgets for digital campaigns, and various entrepreneurial and consultancy projects in the marketing domain.
Akshay holds an Executive Program in Management, Marketing from IIT Bombay – Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management and a Bachelor’s in Information Technology from the University of Mumbai. His academic foundation complements his extensive experience in digital marketing, analytics, and business development.
