Vietnam, March 2026 — dentsu Vietnam has appointed Amit Thakur as Chief Executive Officer – Media, bringing on board an accomplished media and marketing leader with extensive experience across agency leadership, brand management, and strategic business transformation. Amit joins dentsu Vietnam after serving as Managing Partner at WPP Media Vietnam, where he was responsible for driving business growth, operational excellence, and client success through a strong focus on people, processes, and partnerships.
With nearly a decade of experience in the Vietnamese market and more than two decades of leadership experience across Asia, Amit is well-positioned to lead dentsu Vietnam’s media operations and support the organization’s next phase of growth.
Before joining dentsu Vietnam, Amit served as Managing Partner at WPP Media Vietnam, overseeing business performance and strategic client partnerships. Prior to that, he spent nearly eight years with Mindshare, progressing through several senior leadership roles across Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. During this period, he served as Managing Partner, Vietnam, Head of Strategy, and Client Leader – Partner, leading major client businesses, developing media and digital strategies, and managing large cross-functional teams across planning, investment, digital, and operations.
Earlier, Amit worked with Tata Chemicals as Senior Manager – Media, where he established and led the media function for the company’s consumer products portfolio, including Tata Salt and Tata Sampann. His contributions were recognized through multiple industry accolades for media strategy, sponsorship initiatives, and integrated digital campaigns.
Prior to Tata Chemicals, Amit held leadership positions with Mindshare Indonesia and Mindshare India, managing media planning and investment strategies for leading consumer brands. His work during this phase earned several regional and industry awards for innovation, digital excellence, and campaign effectiveness.
His career also includes experience with Parle Products Pvt. Ltd., where he served as Brand Manager, overseeing brand growth, product development, and marketing initiatives. Earlier, he worked with Gigabyte Technology (India) Ltd., leading marketing and channel development programs, and began his professional journey through project assignments with D-Link India, focusing on market research and channel strategy.
