Hyderabad, Telangana, India, June 2026 — Anjali Rao has joined Amgen India as Executive Director – Human Resources, bringing more than two decades of experience in human resources leadership, talent strategy, organizational development, leadership transformation, and people management across global technology and life sciences organizations.
In her new role, Rao will lead human resources initiatives for Amgen India, supporting the organization’s continued growth as a strategic technology and innovation hub within Amgen’s global operations. She will be responsible for advancing people strategies, strengthening organizational capabilities, fostering leadership excellence, and supporting workforce development as the company expands its digital, data science, artificial intelligence, and life sciences capabilities.
Prior to joining Amgen India, Rao served as Executive Director, Human Resources – Lilly Bengaluru at Eli Lilly and Company, where she played a key role in supporting talent and organizational priorities for one of the company’s key global centers. Before Lilly, she was Country Head – People & Organisation India at Novartis, leading the people agenda for the pharmaceutical giant’s India operations and partnering closely with business leaders to drive culture, talent, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
Earlier, Rao spent more than 18 years at Intel Corporation, where she held a series of increasingly senior leadership positions across India and the United States. Her most recent roles included Senior Director Human Resources, Networking and Edge Group, Head of HR and Senior Director HR, Intel Technology India, and Director Talent Acquisition, South Asia. During her tenure, she led HR strategy for large-scale engineering organizations, drove leadership development programs, managed talent acquisition functions, and supported major organizational transformations across a workforce of thousands of employees.
Rao began her professional career with the Azim Premji Foundation, where she contributed to recruitment, talent development, and organizational capability-building initiatives. A graduate of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), she has built a distinguished career centered on helping organizations develop high-performing cultures, strengthen leadership pipelines, and align talent strategies with business growth objectives.
