San Francisco, California, United States, June 2026 — Asad Malik has joined Anthropic as Head of Compute Finance & Strategy. In his new role, he will lead compute finance and strategic planning to support the company’s mission of building safe, reliable, and transformative artificial intelligence through world-class compute infrastructure.
Prior to joining Anthropic, Malik spent over seven years with Google, where he most recently served as Head of AI/ML Infrastructure Finance & Strategy. He led AI and machine learning investment strategy for Alphabet’s multi-billion-dollar capital expenditure portfolio, overseeing long-range planning, corporate development, cost optimization, competitive intelligence, governance, and infrastructure strategy to scale AI compute capabilities. Earlier at Google, he focused on strategy and financial planning for machine infrastructure, robotics, and supply chain automation.
Before Google, Malik spent nearly four years with Goldman Sachs Asset Management as a Fundamental Equity Investor, where he evaluated investment opportunities across emerging markets and developed long-term investment strategies focused on sustainable value creation.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a Summer Analyst – Alternative Assets at Towers Watson, supporting investment analysis across private equity, real estate, and infrastructure funds. He also served as Co-Head of Events for the Finance Society at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he coordinated recruitment and industry engagement initiatives connecting students with leading financial institutions.
With experience spanning AI infrastructure finance, corporate strategy, investment management, capital allocation, corporate development, and financial planning, Malik brings a unique combination of technology and financial leadership to Anthropic as the company continues expanding its frontier AI capabilities.
