Pune, Maharashtra, India, July 2026 – Suzlon Group has announced the appointment of Ashok Ramachandran as President, India Business and Senior Managerial Personnel, effective June 4, 2026. He will report directly to Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group, and will lead the company’s India business operations as Suzlon accelerates its transformation into a wind-first, full-stack renewable energy solutions provider.
Ashok joins Suzlon with more than two decades of global leadership experience across renewable energy, industrial products, manufacturing, infrastructure, and vertical mobility sectors. His appointment comes at a strategic time for Suzlon as India’s renewable energy sector enters a new phase of expansion and energy transition.
Most recently, Ashok served as Group Chief Executive Officer at REE Corporation, one of Vietnam’s leading listed conglomerates. In this role, he led a diversified portfolio spanning energy, water, engineering procurement and construction (EPC), air conditioning, and real estate businesses. His leadership focused on driving growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation across multiple sectors.
Prior to REE Corporation, Ashok was Chief Operating Officer and Board Member at JSW Energy, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s long-term growth trajectory. During his tenure, JSW Energy accelerated its capacity expansion journey from approximately 5 GW to nearly 30 GW within a span of three years, reinforcing its position as one of India’s leading power companies.
A significant portion of Ashok’s career was spent with the Schindler Group, where he held several senior leadership positions across India, Southeast Asia, and Australia. As Chief Executive Officer and President of Schindler India & South Asia, he led one of the company’s most strategic regions, overseeing manufacturing, operations, sales, service, and research and development activities. Under his leadership, Schindler India achieved strong operational performance and expanded revenues from approximately INR 1,000 crore to INR 3,000 crore.
Earlier, he served as Managing Director for Malaysia and Brunei and Managing Director for Vietnam under the Jardine Schindler Group, successfully leading business growth, operational transformation, and market expansion initiatives across Southeast Asia. His international leadership portfolio also includes roles with Schindler Lifts Australia, where he managed regional operations and led business excellence and process improvement programs.
With extensive expertise in operational transformation, business scaling, manufacturing excellence, strategy execution, and leadership development, Ashok brings a unique blend of global and regional experience to Suzlon’s leadership team. His appointment underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its execution capabilities while expanding its leadership position in India’s renewable energy sector.
