Pune, Maharashtra, India, November 2025 — Asif Akhtar has been appointed as Chief Business Officer at MDIndia Health Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd., marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career spanning over two decades in the healthcare and insurance sector. In his new role, Asif will spearhead MDIndia’s business strategy and nationwide operations, driving growth, innovation, and service excellence across its extensive network.
Asif takes charge of leading MDIndia’s business expansion with a focus on deepening client relationships, enhancing service delivery, and strengthening the company’s leadership in the Indian TPA ecosystem. His appointment reinforces MDIndia’s commitment to advancing operational excellence and providing seamless healthcare administration to millions of insured lives across India.
Prior to this elevation, Asif served as National Head – Retail Business at MDIndia, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s retail portfolio and establishing robust partnerships across insurers and healthcare providers.
Before joining MDIndia, Asif had an exceptional 20-year tenure at Medi Assist, where he rose to the position of Senior Vice President – Account Management. During this period, he contributed significantly to the company’s strategic growth, client servicing framework, and process innovation. He was instrumental in driving organizational transformation initiatives, leading large-scale account portfolios, and introducing efficiency-focused projects that improved both customer satisfaction and operational agility.
Earlier in his career, Asif worked with MedSave Health Care TPA Pvt. Ltd. as Assistant Manager – Corporate Relations, where he strengthened corporate partnerships and client engagement practices. He also held early-career roles with Kotak Life Insurance as Team Leader – DST and Gati Limited as Senior Executive – Major Accounts, gaining valuable experience in customer relationship management, business development, and strategic account leadership.
With a strong track record in strategic planning, operations management, and relationship development, Asif brings a blend of deep industry expertise and client-focused leadership to his new role at MDIndia.
