Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, August 2026 — Vikas Gupta has been appointed India CEO at Himalaya Wellness Company, bringing extensive leadership experience across FMCG, beauty and wellness, e-commerce, retail, and consumer businesses. His appointment brings to Himalaya an executive with a track record spanning business transformation, brand building, P&L leadership, digital growth and value creation across Indian and international markets.
Prior to joining Himalaya Wellness Company, Gupta served as Managing Director & Group CEO at VLCC, where he was mandated to lead the transformation and value creation agenda of the beauty and wellness business. During his tenure, he helped scale the clinic footprint from approximately 90 to 170 locations, expanded the portfolio into new growth areas, and drove a shift toward a more services-led business model. Before VLCC, he was CEO – SuperStore by Nykaa, Nykaa Pro & Nykaa International at Nykaa, where he built the company’s digital-first B2B beauty commerce platform and expanded its reach to more than 150,000 retailers across 650-plus cities.
Earlier, Gupta served as Chief Customer & Marketing Officer at Flipkart, leading customer and marketing strategy at one of India’s largest e-commerce businesses. His responsibilities encompassed customer growth, lifetime value, data-driven capital allocation and cross-functional collaboration across product, supply chain and category teams. During this period, he helped drive significant growth in monthly active customers and transactions.
A major part of Gupta’s career was built during more than 21 years with Unilever, where he held senior leadership assignments across India, South Asia and international markets. He served as Executive Director – Home Care and Board Member at Unilever Indonesia, leading an approximately $1 billion Home Care P&L. His earlier positions included Vice President – Laundry South Asia and Global Vice President – Dirt is Good and Radiant, Global Vice President – Dirt is Good, Marketing Director – Asia, Fabric Care, and Global Project Leader – Marketing Excellence. His Unilever journey also included brand, innovation, sales and customer development responsibilities involving brands such as Surf Excel, Omo, Persil, Lux and Dove.
Gupta holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, completed between 1996 and 1998. His combination of consumer-sector expertise, international leadership exposure and experience scaling and transforming businesses positions him to lead Himalaya Wellness Company’s India operations as the company builds on its longstanding heritage in herbal wellness and consumer healthcare.
