MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA, July 2026 — Metro Brands Limited has appointed Atul Sinha as President – Core Business, reinforcing its leadership team as the company accelerates the next phase of growth for its flagship brands, Metro Shoes and Mochi.
In his new role, Atul will spearhead Metro Brands’ core business operations, focusing on strengthening brand relevance, deepening customer engagement, expanding market reach, and unlocking new growth opportunities across the footwear retail landscape. He will play a key role in driving strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing customer experiences, accelerating business performance, and further strengthening the company’s position as one of India’s leading footwear retailers.
Atul brings more than two decades of leadership experience spanning retail, consumer goods, brand management, sales, marketing, merchandising, category management, and business transformation.
Prior to joining Metro Brands, he spent over eleven years with CaratLane – A Tanishq Partnership, where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he held full P&L responsibility for the business and led marketing, merchandising, category management, sales, sales support, and international operations. Under his leadership, CaratLane continued to strengthen its position as one of India’s leading omnichannel jewellery brands.
Before becoming COO, Atul served as Senior Vice President – Retail, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s retail footprint, strengthening store performance, and enhancing customer experiences across the country. Earlier, as Senior Vice President – Marketing, he helped build brand equity, drive customer acquisition, and accelerate business growth through innovative marketing strategies and consumer-centric initiatives.
Prior to CaratLane, Atul spent over thirteen years with Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), one of India’s largest consumer goods companies. During his tenure, he held several leadership positions across sales, category management, trade marketing, and brand management. As Category Head – Oral Care, he was responsible for driving growth and strategy for one of the company’s key business categories. Earlier, he served as Global Brand Manager – Closeup, leading brand-building initiatives across multiple markets.
His career at HUL also included roles as Trade Category Manager, Area Sales and Customer Manager, and Business Leadership Trainee, providing him with extensive experience in commercial strategy, consumer marketing, distribution management, and business development.
An alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad), Atul has built a distinguished career by combining strategic thinking, consumer insight, operational excellence, and strong execution capabilities.
With deep expertise in brand building, retail operations, category leadership, P&L management, customer engagement, and business transformation, Atul is well positioned to lead Metro Brands’ core business portfolio through its next phase of growth and innovation.
His appointment comes at a significant time for Metro Brands as the company continues to expand its retail footprint, strengthen its omnichannel capabilities, and enhance its portfolio of leading footwear and lifestyle brands across India.
