Bohemia, New York, United States, April 2026 — People’s Arc of Suffolk has announced that Brian Cabezas has transitioned into a new executive role as Chief People Experience Officer, marking an important milestone in his long-standing leadership journey in the developmental disabilities services sector. Brian’s journey with People’s Arc of Suffolk began in 2024 when he joined the organization as Chief Program Officer. In 2026, he now steps into this vital role to further strengthen the connection between the services the organization provides and the people it supports.
With more than 25 years of experience in the field, Brian Cabezas brings a wealth of knowledge and a deeply rooted people-first perspective to this position. His professional journey began in direct service as a Direct Support Professional in a group home setting, giving him a strong foundation that continues to shape his leadership style and his understanding of person-centered support.
Before taking on this new role, Brian Cabezas served as Chief Operating Officer at People’s Arc of Suffolk. Prior to that, he joined the organization as Chief Program Officer, reflecting a strong internal leadership progression and growing trust in his ability to help shape the organization’s mission and impact.
Earlier, he was associated with ACDS, Inc. as Director of Residential Services and with Community Options, Inc. as Regional Director. A significant phase of his career was built at the Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI), where he served for more than 24 years as Director. These assignments reflect a long and accomplished career across residential services, regional leadership, program management, and disability support services.
With experience spanning People’s Arc of Suffolk, ACDS, Inc., Community Options, Inc., and the Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI), Brian Cabezas brings a distinguished and compassionate leadership profile to his new role. His elevation to Chief People Experience Officer is expected to further strengthen the organization’s ability to align high-quality services with the needs and experiences of the individuals and communities it serves.
