Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2026 — PNB MetLife India Insurance Co. Ltd. has appointed Chittaranjan Nayak as Senior Director & Business Head – Retail Partnerships & Bancassurance. In his new role, he will lead the company’s retail partnerships and bancassurance business, focusing on strengthening strategic alliances, driving distribution growth, enhancing partner engagement, and accelerating business expansion across institutional channels.
With more than 25 years of experience across banking, life insurance, and institutional distribution, Chittaranjan brings extensive expertise in bancassurance leadership, strategic partnerships, retail distribution, sales transformation, and business growth. He has built a distinguished track record of creating high-performing distribution ecosystems and driving sustainable growth through strong partner relationships and execution excellence.
Prior to joining PNB MetLife, Chittaranjan spent nearly eight years with Tata AIA Life Insurance, where he served as a member of the Senior Management Team and held leadership positions including National Head and Vice President. During his tenure, he led multi-bank distribution strategies, built structured growth channels across private banks and securities platforms, and established Tata AIA’s international Non-Resident Indian platform through Dubai-based banking partnerships. He also implemented robust governance frameworks, performance management systems, and national operating models that strengthened partner engagement and accelerated growth across institutional channels.
Earlier in his career, Chittaranjan held leadership positions at Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Co. Ltd., where he served as General Manager & National Head – Bancassurance, leading strategic partnerships with public sector banks and government-linked institutions. He also held senior roles at Aegon Life Insurance, Reliance Nippon Life Insurance, HDFC Life, and HDFC Bank, gaining extensive experience in alternate distribution, corporate agency partnerships, bancassurance sales, retail banking, and customer relationship management.
His appointment reflects PNB MetLife’s continued commitment to strengthening its retail partnerships and bancassurance business through experienced leadership and customer-centric growth strategies. Chittaranjan’s proven expertise in building large-scale institutional distribution networks and driving operational excellence positions him well to lead the next phase of growth for PNB MetLife’s partnership business.
