Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2026 — Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL) has promoted Sanjay Kavathalkar to the role of Deputy President – HR & Admin. In his expanded leadership role, he will oversee the company’s human resources and administrative functions, driving people strategy, organizational development, leadership capability, and HR transformation to support KPIL’s continued global growth and operational excellence.
With more than three decades of experience in human resources, organizational development, industrial relations, talent management, and business transformation, Sanjay has built a distinguished career across infrastructure, engineering, construction, manufacturing, telecommunications, aviation, and pharmaceuticals. He has consistently partnered with business leadership to build high-performing organizations, strengthen HR systems, and drive sustainable people practices aligned with long-term business objectives.
Before assuming his new position, Sanjay served as Senior Vice President – HR, SBG 3 & Skills Development at Kalpataru Projects International Limited, where he led strategic HR initiatives and capability-building programs. Prior to rejoining KPIL, he was Senior Vice President & Head – HR (Urban Infrastructure) at JMC Projects (India) Ltd., followed by a brief tenure as Chief Human Resources Officer at ITD Cementation India Limited. Earlier, he held several senior leadership positions within the Kalpataru Group, including Senior Vice President – Human Resources, Vice President – HR, and Assistant Vice President – Group HR, where he played a key role in talent management, performance management systems, leadership development, employee engagement, and group-wide HR transformation.
Earlier in his career, Sanjay held leadership positions with Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd. (GVK Group), Hyderabad Industries Ltd. (CK Birla Group), Jubilant Organosys Ltd., Tata Teleservices Ltd., Zydus Cadila, and Rallis India Ltd. Across these organizations, he led organization development, HR systems, industrial relations, succession planning, employee engagement, HR policy design, PeopleSoft HRIS implementation, leadership hiring, and culture transformation initiatives. His extensive cross-sector experience has enabled him to build strong people practices that support organizational growth and operational excellence.
Sanjay has further strengthened his professional expertise through a Post Graduate Certification in Human Resource Management from XLRI Jamshedpur, specializing in performance management systems, organizational behavior, industrial relations, and managerial counselling. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources from NIPM Kolkata, reinforcing his deep foundation in strategic human resource management.
