Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, August 2026 — Shonali Chakravarty has joined United Breweries Limited (UBL), a HEINEKEN Company, as Communications, Sustainability & CSR Leader, taking on an integrated enterprise mandate spanning corporate communications, reputation, sustainability, social impact and stakeholder engagement for the company’s India business.
In her new role, Chakravarty will lead UBL’s corporate narrative and reputation agenda while strengthening executive positioning and engagement with stakeholders across a complex and highly regulated consumer category. Her responsibilities also encompass advancing the company’s sustainability strategy and embedding responsible-business priorities into corporate strategy, communications and stakeholder relationships. On the CSR front, she will oversee social-impact programmes across UBL’s multi-state footprint, including initiatives focused on communities, livelihoods and responsible development.
Chakravarty joins UBL after more than six years with Lenovo, where she most recently served as APAC Enterprise Tech Communications Leader for Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) and Solutions and Services Group (SSG). In that capacity, she led communications, analyst relations and stakeholder engagement around areas including AI, high-performance computing, workplace solutions, Everything-as-a-Service, edge and cloud across Asia Pacific. Earlier, as APAC Communications Leader for Lenovo ISG, she managed internal and external communications and analyst relations across more than 13 markets in the region.
Before Lenovo, Chakravarty served as Director – Corporate Communications at OYO and held a series of leadership positions with Uber, including Head – Corporate & Policy Communications, India & South Asia and Head – Policy Communications, India & South Asia. Her work encompassed stakeholder engagement, public policy communications, issues and crisis management, corporate reputation, storytelling and media engagement. She previously led Strategic Communications & Digital Communications for Essar Oil and Essar Power and also worked in marketing and communications at Marsh.
Earlier in her career, Chakravarty worked with Edelman, where she was part of its Public Affairs practice and focused on public policy and legislative tracking. Her career journey has consequently built experience across corporate and policy communications, public affairs, reputation management, digital communications, analyst relations, executive positioning and stakeholder engagement, spanning technology, mobility, hospitality, energy, professional services and consumer-facing sectors.
Chakravarty holds an MBA in International Business from K J Somaiya Institute of Management, completed between 2012 and 2014. Her move to UBL expands her leadership remit beyond communications into sustainability and CSR, bringing together business reputation, responsible growth and social impact under an integrated enterprise mandate.
