Stamford, Connecticut, United States, March 2025 – Christian Sobottka has stepped into the role of President and Chief Executive Officer at HARMAN International, succeeding Michael Mauser, who has decided to step down. Having previously served as President of HARMAN’s Automotive Division, Sobottka has been instrumental in steering the company towards a software- and product-focused business model, driving innovation in in-cabin automotive experiences and strengthening strategic partnerships across the industry.
With over two decades of experience in the global automotive sector, Sobottka has held multiple leadership roles, including CEO and CTO at Robert Bosch Automotive Steering and Executive Vice President at Robert Bosch, where he contributed significantly to automotive fuel systems and chassis control technologies. His deep expertise in automotive engineering, digital transformation, and strategic leadership positions him well to lead HARMAN’s next phase of growth.
Michael Mauser, who dedicated nearly three decades to HARMAN, played a pivotal role in the company’s 2017 acquisition by Samsung Electronics and led it through major industry milestones, including navigating semiconductor shortages and driving revenue growth. Under Sobottka’s leadership, HARMAN aims to continue its trajectory of innovation and market expansion. Additionally, Dave Rogers, President of HARMAN’s Lifestyle Division, will be joining the company’s Board of Directors.
