California, United States, December 2024 – Cristina Alvarez has stepped into the role of Director, Human Resources – Tensar WH at CMC, where she will lead HR strategies, employee relations, and workforce planning to support the organization’s dynamic growth and commitment to its people-centric culture.
Cristina has been a key member of CMC for over seven years, most recently serving as Area Human Resources Manager. In this role, she oversaw HR operations across multiple states, spearheading initiatives in DE&I, employee development, and succession planning while managing compliance with labor regulations. Her leadership extended to guiding a team of HR professionals and fostering strong partnerships with business leaders to align HR strategies with operational goals.

Before joining CMC, Cristina held the position of Human Resources Manager – Multisite at CEMEX, where she managed HR functions for the Central Valley Region in California, including collective bargaining and labor relations for unionized environments. Earlier, she served as Human Resources Manager at Applied Aerospace Structures Corporation, where she implemented HR policies, managed safety programs, and developed performance appraisal systems to support over 300 employees.
Cristina earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She brings over two decades of HR expertise, focusing on fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic workforce initiatives.
