London, England, United Kingdom, March 2025 – Deshnee Naidoo has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer of Vedanta Group Resources Ltd (VRL), marking a historic milestone for the company as it prepares for a major corporate restructuring. With a career spanning more than 25 years across global resource companies, Naidoo brings deep expertise in the metals, mining, and energy sectors, and returns to Vedanta at a pivotal moment as it gears up to become a $100-billion global leader in critical minerals, energy, and technology.

Before her CEO role, she held multiple leadership positions at Vale, including Executive Vice President – Base Metals and Director of Finance and Business Development, where she was instrumental in steering business performance and driving investment strategies.

Naidoo previously served as CEO of Vedanta Zinc International and CMT Mines Australia for nearly six years. During her tenure, she led major growth initiatives across South Africa and Australia, focusing on base metals expansion, operational excellence, and sustainability.

Her earlier experience includes over a decade at Anglo American, where she held roles such as CFO – Thermal Coal, Deputy Head – CEO’s Office, and senior finance and planning positions. These roles gave her deep insights into business transformation, stakeholder alignment, and strategic planning at the highest levels.

Naidoo began her career at Anglo Platinum, where she worked across a range of technical and strategic positions over nearly 11 years. Her early grounding in strategic long-term planning and corporate finance built the foundation for her ascent to C-suite roles in the global mining industry.
