Istanbul, Türkiye, June 2026 — Devrim Emel Alıcı has been promoted to Country Medical Director at GSK, marking a significant milestone in a distinguished medical leadership career spanning nearly two decades across the global biopharmaceutical industry. Her appointment reflects her extensive expertise in medical affairs, oncology, vaccines, infectious diseases, and strategic healthcare leadership across multiple international markets.
In her new role, Alıcı will lead GSK’s medical organization in Türkiye, overseeing medical strategy, scientific engagement, patient-focused initiatives, evidence generation, and cross-functional collaboration across the company’s portfolio. Her promotion comes as GSK continues to strengthen its focus on specialty medicines, vaccines, oncology, HIV, respiratory diseases, and immunology.
Prior to assuming this position, Alıcı served as Oncology Group Medical Manager at GSK, where he played a key role in advancing medical affairs strategies and supporting the company’s oncology portfolio. Her return to GSK represents a full-circle moment in her career, having previously worked with the company earlier in her professional journey as a Medical Manager, supporting respiratory, anti-infective, HIV, smoking cessation, and vaccine portfolios.
Before rejoining GSK, Alıcı served as Country Medical Director at AstraZeneca Singapore, where he led medical affairs initiatives and supported the organization’s strategic objectives across key therapeutic areas. Her international leadership experience was further strengthened during her tenure at Bristol Myers Squibb, where he held multiple senior roles including Country Medical Director, Interim Country Medical Director, and Senior Immuno-Oncology Scientific Advisor, Medical Affairs. During this period, he played an instrumental role in advancing immuno-oncology strategies and strengthening scientific engagement across the Turkish healthcare ecosystem.
Earlier in her career, Alıcı spent more than six years with Pfizer, progressing through several leadership positions within the vaccines business, including Senior Medical Subcluster Manager for Turkey, Hungary, and Israel, Senior Medical Manager, and Medical Manager. She began her professional journey as a Chest Physician at Mardin State Hospital, building a strong clinical foundation that has continued to inform her approach to patient-centered medical leadership. Her broad experience across clinical practice, medical affairs, and executive leadership positions him strongly to lead GSK’s medical organization in Türkiye.
