Hyderabad, Telangana, India, April 2025 – Dr. Baskaran P N has joined Granules India Limited as President & Head – API Operations, marking a return to the organization where he previously served for nearly seven years. In his new role, Dr. Baskaran will lead API operations, bringing his rich expertise in manufacturing, EHS, engineering, supply chain, automation, and regulatory affairs to further strengthen Granules’ global competitiveness in pharmaceutical production.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Baskaran served as Chief Operating Officer at Sekhmet Pharmaventures, where he played a pivotal role in scaling up operations and aligning manufacturing strategies with business goals across the pharmaceutical value chain. His efforts were instrumental in improving efficiencies and operational excellence.
Before Sekhmet, he led API operations as Head – API Operations at Lupin, overseeing large-scale production and compliance across facilities. His tenure was marked by strong results in capacity enhancement and regulatory readiness, contributing to the company’s global market strength in APIs.
He also held the role of Senior Vice President – Operations at Hetero, where he managed end-to-end operations for API manufacturing, driving synergies between business growth and operational effectiveness.
Previously, Dr. Baskaran was Vice President – Operations at Granules India Limited, where he delivered significant operational value through his leadership across multiple manufacturing units. His return to the company comes as a testament to the impact he created during his earlier stint.
Dr. Baskaran’s earlier career includes leadership roles as Unit Head at Malladi Drugs and Pharmaceuticals and Member Management Staff (Unit Head) at Cipla, where he was responsible for plant operations, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional integration, laying a strong foundation in operations and team building.
