Stockholm, Sweden, July 2024 – Emil Lindblad Kernell has taken on the role of Head of Business & Human Rights at Ericsson. Emil is thrilled to lead the newly formed Business & Human Rights Unit, which has been established to address the evolving landscape of human rights due diligence regulations and the increasing demand for companies to conduct business responsibly.
Emil Lindblad Kernell brings extensive experience in business and human rights to his new role. For the past two years and four months, he has served as the Business and Human Rights Counsel at Ericsson, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. In this capacity, Emil worked within Ericsson’s Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility team, contributing significantly to the company’s human rights initiatives.
In addition to his role at Ericsson, Emil is actively involved in several influential organizations. Since May 2023, he has been a Member of the Board of Directors at UN Global Compact Network Sweden and since April 2023, a Member of the Board of Directors at the Global Network Initiative.
Before joining Ericsson, Emil worked as an Adviser on Human Rights and Business at the Danish Institute for Human Rights from January 2018 to March 2022, where he provided expert guidance on integrating human rights considerations into business practices. He also served as a Legal Consultant on Business and Human Rights at Advokatfirman Vinge KB in Stockholm, Sweden, from August 2017 to December 2017.
