Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2026 – Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has approved the reappointment of Sudhir Sitapati as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a fresh five-year term beginning 18 October 2026, reinforcing continuity in the company’s long-term strategic and transformation agenda.
The decision reflects the Board’s confidence in Sitapati’s leadership as the company continues to strengthen its position across emerging markets and key consumer categories. Since taking over the role in 2021, he has led several strategic initiatives focused on growth acceleration, portfolio sharpening, operational agility, and market expansion.
The company also announced that Nadir Godrej will step down from the Board as Non-Executive Non-Independent Director, effective 7 August 2026.
Sudhir Sitapati has been serving as Managing Director and CEO of Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) since October 2021, leading the organization’s efforts to strengthen its presence across health, beauty, home care, and personal care categories in emerging markets.
Before joining GCPL, Sudhir spent more than two decades with Unilever, where he built an extensive global leadership career across India, South Asia, Africa, and the United Kingdom. During his tenure, he held several senior business and category leadership roles spanning foods, refreshments, home care, and fabric cleaning businesses.
Most recently at Unilever, he served as Executive Director and Vice President – Foods & Refreshment, where he led large-scale consumer businesses and category growth strategies across multiple markets. Prior to that, he held leadership positions including Executive Director and Vice President – Refreshments, Regional Category Vice President – Refreshments, South Asia and Africa, and General Manager – Skin Cleansing, South Asia.
His earlier assignments included leading fabric cleaning and laundry portfolios as Regional Brand Director, Fabric Cleaning – South Asia and Senior Brand Manager – Persil in the United Kingdom. Across these roles, Sudhir developed deep expertise in brand building, market expansion, consumer strategy, category transformation, and business leadership across global FMCG markets.
He began his corporate career with Unilever as a Business Leadership Trainee, steadily rising through leadership ranks over a span of more than 22 years.
Sudhir Sitapati is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, where he completed his management education between 1997 and 1999.
