Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2026 – Gokul S. has been promoted to Senior Vice President – Digital Payments at Axis Bank, recognizing his strong contributions to the bank’s digital payments and remittance ecosystem. In this expanded role, he will continue to drive innovation, scale digital payment solutions, and strengthen Axis Bank’s leadership in the fast-evolving payments landscape.
Gokul S. has been associated with Axis Bank for over five years, steadily progressing through key leadership roles in digital banking and payments. Prior to his elevation, he served as Vice President – Digital Payments, where he worked closely with major UPI Third Party Application Providers (TPAPs) and acquiring clients. His efforts contributed to strengthening the bank’s UPI ecosystem and achieving a leading market position in FY26.
Earlier, he held the role of Product Head – Retail Inward Remittances, leading teams managing wire transfers, Vostro accounts, and digital remittance platforms, followed by his role as Assistant Vice President – Digital Inward Remittances, where he helped build and scale digital remittance capabilities.
Before rejoining Axis Bank in his current tenure, Gokul gained diverse experience across fintech and banking. He worked at SBM Bank India as AVP – Strategy (MD/CEO’s Office) and at Fino Payments Bank as AVP & Executive Assistant to the MD/CEO, where he contributed to strategic initiatives, digital transformation programs, and data-driven decision-making.
Earlier in his career, he spent over three years at Axis Bank in roles across business intelligence and digital remittance strategy, where he launched key platforms such as RemitMoney.com and drove significant revenue growth and user experience enhancements.
He also brings experience from Mu Sigma as a Senior Business Analyst, where he worked on advanced analytics, marketing optimization, and business strategy projects, and began his professional journey with Nokia Siemens Networks as a software engineer.
Gokul holds a PGDM in Marketing Management from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research.
