Gurugram, Haryana, India, April 2025 – SAEL Industries Ltd has announced the appointment of Hemant Lakhotiya as Chief Operating Officer (P&L Head) for its Agri Waste-to-Energy Business. With this strategic appointment, SAEL reinforces its leadership in India’s renewable energy transformation and its commitment to sustainable growth.
With over 30 years of experience in large-scale manufacturing, energy infrastructure, and multi-location plant operations, Hemant Lakhotiya brings unmatched depth in P&L management, business transformation, and digital operations. At SAEL, he will lead the company’s mission to scale its Agri Waste-to-Energy portfolio, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and environmental impact.
Prior to joining SAEL, Hemant served as President at Welspun Corp, leading Business Excellence and Digital Transformation in the Pipes and Steel sectors. His career also includes impactful leadership stints as CEO of JK Files & Engineering Limited, where he managed a global business across manufacturing and sales functions, and as Vice President – APAC Region at Schneider Electric, overseeing industrial performance and strategic business expansion across India, Indonesia, and Australia.
Earlier, he held regional and BU head roles at CG Power & Industrial Solutions, including as President Director at CG Power Systems Indonesia, where he led operations with P&L responsibility exceeding USD 130 million. His initiatives resulted in major operational turnarounds and JV formations, including high-value contracts in Indonesia, New Zealand, and Australia.
At SAEL, Hemant will oversee the performance of 11 operational biomass plants and the construction of two additional plants across three Indian states, processing over 2 million tons of agricultural residue annually. This initiative not only generates clean electricity but also mitigates the environmental hazard of stubble burning. SAEL aims to double its biomass capacity within three years, and Hemant’s leadership will be pivotal in realizing this ambition.
