Himanshu Kapadia Elevated to Director of HR Business Partnering at The Walt Disney Company

Mumbai, Maharashtra – Himanshu Kapadia has been promoted as the new Director – HR Business Partner at The Walt Disney Company. In this role, Kapadia will lead the HR Business Partnering for Corporate Functions, succeeding his previous role as Associate Director where he managed HR activities for India’s largest portfolio of International Corporate Functions.

Prior to this promotion, Kapadia amassed significant HR management experience across a variety of roles. He started at The Walt Disney Company as an HR Business Partner in 2018, eventually taking on broader responsibilities, including overseeing HR for Media Networks and Studio Entertainment Businesses.

Before joining Disney, Kapadia held substantial roles at DBS Bank as an HR Business Partner, where he drove strategic HR initiatives across Corporate and Transaction Banking from 2014 to 2018. His tenure at DBS was marked by his leadership in recruitment and talent management which earned him a “Connect Award” for successful execution of digital bank recruitment drives.

Kapadia’s earlier career includes significant stints at HDFC Bank and Standard Chartered Bank, focusing on HR strategies for Retail Banking and Consumer Banking respectively. His contributions to financial inclusion initiatives and talent acquisition have been widely acknowledged in the industry.

Kapadia’s experience totals over 15 years in HR, during which he has been recognized as a top HR influencer in India, a testament to his leadership and innovative approach to human resources management.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
