Singapore, February 2026 — Alternative Energy Company (AEC) has announced the appointment of Imanol Arbulu as a Non-Executive Director and Board Member, strengthening its leadership as it expands its investment advisory capabilities for next-generation energy transition projects, particularly first-of-a-kind (FOAK) green molecules and energy projects.
With nearly two decades of global experience spanning energy, infrastructure, and strategic transformation, Imanol brings strong expertise in capital deployment strategies, large-scale transformations, and building resilient, future-ready organisations. Based in Singapore, his appointment also reinforces AEC’s growing footprint across Southeast Asia, aligning closely with the region’s accelerating energy transition agenda.
AEC shared that, as a Board member, Imanol will provide strategic guidance at the Board level and serve as a thought partner on select mandates, supporting clients in raising and deploying capital into high-impact energy transition projects. His involvement further strengthens AEC’s ambition to raise the bar in investment advisory by embedding high-quality due diligence, stakeholder alignment, and project-finance rigour into complex energy transition deals.
In addition to this Board appointment, Imanol Arbulu currently serves as a Partner at Kearney, where he is the Leader of the Energy Practice for Southeast Asia, based in Singapore. In this role, he advises energy ecosystem stakeholders on strategy, transformation, and long-term growth, with a strong lens on evolving market dynamics and energy transition pathways.
Prior to Kearney, Imanol spent nearly 11 years with McKinsey & Company, working primarily out of Singapore, where he progressed across multiple leadership roles including Associate, Engagement Manager, and later Associate Partner. At McKinsey, he led global teams and supported clients across the wider energy ecosystem including private equity, oil & gas, and utilities, delivering strategic and transformation programs that require both sector depth and execution discipline.
Earlier in his career, he gained strong technical grounding through engineering and infrastructure-facing roles. He worked at SENER as an Engineer, where he contributed to operational and design-stage responsibilities, including commissioning and technical leadership related to large-scale project execution. He also held early roles with CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) and worked on technical projects with Vicomtech and CEIT Research Center, building a foundation in industrial systems and applied engineering problem-solving.
Imanol Arbulu holds an MBA from INSEAD, where he graduated with Distinction / Dean’s List and served as Co-president of the Industry Club. He also earned his degree in Industrial Engineering (specialising in electricity and electronics) from the University of Navarra.
