Dublin, Ireland, June 2026 — Accenture has announced the elevation of Johnny Cheng to Senior Managing Director – Technology / Digital Core Lead, Software & Platform Industry Group, recognizing his exceptional contributions to technology transformation, cloud modernization, digital engineering, platform innovation, and business growth over nearly two decades with the company.
In his expanded leadership role, Johnny will serve as the Digital Core Reinvention Partner Lead for the Software & Platforms Industry Group globally and in the United States, helping clients build digital cores, accelerate AI adoption, modernize technology ecosystems, and unlock new sources of business value through large-scale transformation initiatives.
Prior to this elevation, Johnny served as Technology Lead – Software & Platform Industry Group, United States, where he led Accenture’s technology business for software and platform clients across the U.S. During his tenure, the business achieved impressive growth while significantly enhancing profitability, further strengthening Accenture’s leadership position in the technology consulting market.
Earlier, he served as Managing Director – Platform Engineering Lead, US-West, where he focused on helping organizations evolve into platform-based businesses through modern engineering practices, talent transformation, and operational modernization. He played a key role in accelerating growth across Accenture’s platform engineering capabilities and helping clients create scalable, technology-driven business models.
Before that, Johnny held the role of Managing Director – Industry X Technology Lead, US-West, leading technology initiatives across intelligent products, engineering transformation, digital manufacturing, connected platforms, and operational excellence programs. His work supported clients across communications, media, technology, financial services, products, public services, and resources industries.
Earlier in his Accenture career, Johnny held several progressive leadership positions including Managing Director – Technology Consulting Lead for Communications, Media & Technology (CMT), North America West and Managing Director – North America Cloud Consulting Lead for CMT, where he was instrumental in driving cloud transformation initiatives and helping organizations modernize legacy technology estates while adopting cloud-native architectures.
Over his 19-year career with Accenture, Johnny has advanced through roles including Senior Manager, Manager, Consultant, and Analyst, consistently demonstrating expertise in digital transformation, cloud computing, platform engineering, AI-enabled modernization, enterprise architecture, and large-scale technology consulting.
Throughout his career, Johnny has earned recognition for helping organizations navigate complex technology transformations while building high-performing teams and driving sustained business growth. His leadership has contributed significantly to Accenture’s continued success in helping enterprises reinvent themselves through technology and innovation.
As Senior Managing Director, Johnny is expected to play an increasingly influential role in shaping Accenture’s Digital Core and Software & Platforms strategy globally, helping clients harness the power of AI, cloud, data, engineering, and modern platforms to accelerate reinvention and create long-term value.
