California, United States – Karina Abarca has recently been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, marking a significant advancement in her extensive career spanning over a decade at the company. Abarca’s journey at Morongo began in October 2013, and over the years, she has risen through various roles, demonstrating a profound capability in managing complex human resources functions and labor relations.
Starting her tenure as a Human Resources Manager, Abarca was instrumental in refining team member relations and enhancing operational efficiencies. Her leadership skills saw her progressing to Director of Team Member/Labor Relations in June 2016, where she served for over two years before taking on the role of Director of Human Resources in July 2018. In this capacity, she oversaw a significant period of growth and restructuring, ensuring that Morongo’s HR strategies aligned with its overall business goals.
Before her decade-long tenure at Morongo, Abarca was part of the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage team, where she managed team member relations from July 2011 until October 2013. Prior to that, she enhanced her HR expertise at San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, serving as a Human Resources Supervisor for nearly seven years.
